Seychelles – Anse Intendance
Anse Intendance
This is one of Mahé’s best beaches. This is a favorite surfing spot with frequent big swells and wild waves. This beach lacks a protective reef to make swimming safe. Experienced swimmers will have no difficulty. Turtles nest along the shores here.
The beach can be reached by car or bus. There is a bus stop just a few minutes from the sand. Parking spaces are also found near the beach.
Banyan Tree Resort is located on his beach. This resort is almost the only thing in the whole bay, with no other guesthouses or restaurants located nearby, except for a small beach bar, which sells a few snacks and some cold drinks.
Seychelles Tourism
Tourism is the most important economic sector of Seychelles. About 15% of the workforce is employed in tourism and related services. About 70% of foreign exchange earnings is derived from tourism. English and French are widely spoken.
Tourist arrivals continue uninterrupted despite Covid-19 restrictions. Authorities have certified 587 of the 720 tourist accommodations as COVID-safe.
Sailing, diving, fishing, and relaxing are the main activities for visitors to the 115 islands of Seychelles. The most popular islands are Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. Seychelles boasts silver beaches, an array of restaurants, cafés, bars, and casinos.

Seychellois dance and music
Dance and music in Seychelles is a refreshing amalgamation of European, African, Arabic, and Chinese traditions and instruments.
There are a number of different traditional dances that are enjoyed in Seychelles. The Moutia is popular with its percussion and string instruments. It contains foreign influences from France and Britain.
Sega is one of the most popular in the influential form of music in Seychelles and is a dominant form even now. The Sega dance which accompanies this music is a popular dance style traditionally performed with hand drums and rattles. while the feet remain planted on the floor in a rhythmic shuffle.
Moutya or Montea is another popular style of music, which still holds a firm grip in Seychelles. The dance form is accompanied by a Moutya musical performance.
Kanmtole music bears a resemblance to the French Royal Court’s contredanse as well as Scottish square dancing. The music is accompanied by an accordion, violin, and banjos. Dating from the early 19th century, the kanmtole is a lively blend of all these dance styles. Other musical styles in Seychelles include hip-hop, country, modern jazz, rock, ballads, and choirs performing traditional popular, sacred, ancient and evangelical music.
Maloya is another style of music in Seychelles, similar to Sega. The instruments used are similar. The music is slower than Sega.
Zouk and Seggae are two types of music developed in late 1990.
The unique combination of music and dance in Seychelles is performed by the locals in the hotels, resorts, and at the city center in Seychelles.

Seychelles food
Traditional Creole dishes are famous in Seychelles. Rice is the staple accompanied by spicy hot fish curry. Most dishes are made from locally produced items. Fresh seafood and fruits are sold by street vendors in various places. Fish is usually steamed, grilled, wrapped in banana leaves, baked, salted, and smoked.
Alcoholic drinks produced in the country include the palm wine calou (or kalou), bakka rum, and beers such as Seybrew and Eku. Wine is available at most restaurants in the island nation.
Fruit bat curry, Kari Sousour, is considered a delicacy in Seychelles. Bouyon bred mouroum ek karang fri is a bouillon of fish with any greens or vegetables and is probably the most popular dish among the Seychellois and is consumed almost daily. Shark is a very popular seafood. Shark is made into soup, salad, chutney, and curry.
Dessert is made by boiling plantain, cassava, or breadfruit with salt and coconut milk until soft. Sugar is added to sweeten the dessert.
The Indian Ocean Tuna company is one of the world’s largest canneries.
The restaurants in Seychelles are famous for international and Creole cuisine. Seafood dominates the tables of the restaurants. Red snapper, king fish, tuna, and parrot fish steaks fried with garlic and butter are also derived in restaurants and hotels. Smaller fish such as rabbit fish, job fish, and mackerel are primarily served in the form of curries and stews. Octopus is also served in many of the restaurants.
